Firstly, Happy Lunar New Year! I hope you all have a very lovely Fire Horse year this year, and the following year gives you prosperity and happiness. I love you all.

Now, onto a thought I’ve had.

I’m beginning to realise that I don’t like Twitter very much. This has been the case for some time, but it is beginning to really bother me. Of course, I’m kind of just saying meaningless words with this, most people who say this sort of thing stay on the site anyway. And this will probably be the case for me as well.

However, just to have something as a sort of possible (although likely unnecessary) alternative, I am juggling four possible ideas:

(1) A Matrix server, hosted off of goatcel.farm, of which would be theoretically somewhat public and likely federated to the wider network of Matrix servers. What I’d like to do is make it so you can only log into the server if you have some kind of code on my site, making it so random joins are impossible without a code, but we’ll see, as I’m new to this.

(2) A Discord server. Admittedly this is much easier, and I also don’t believe Discord will implode in the slightest with their new age verification stunt, I only bring up the Matrix server first as I believe it’d be fun to do. But this is probably more viable.

(3) Both. Because why not.

(4) A web-client Matrix server. This is probably a bad idea, but it’s an idea nonetheless.

Another option is probably none of these. But I do think the first two would be fun.

Anyway, unrelated to this is my surgery; my jaw’s mostly fine, but my left ear is almost totally clogged and sore. This is a side-effect of the surgery I had, but it’s quite uncomfortable and makes it hard to sleep. I’ll be in contact with my surgeon today to see if there’s anything that can be done to make it more bearable. Likewise, I plan to email Swansea either today or tomorrow about my offer.
