Birthday

Hi all,

Yesterday was my birthday, and it was very nice! I am now thinking about a few things, but one thing in particular has really stood out: music.

I think it’s time I take making music a bit seriously now, I’ve tossed the idea around before and messed around with FL studio a bit in the past, but I now think I should just, do it. I’m not sure what, though. I know I am a fan of the keyboard, however, I don’t have one in my possession at this time. I also am not super well versed in music theory, although I like to think I have an… okay ear for music. But of course, it would be much better to study music theory when I have some respite from school. I also don’t really know what I’d do, especially considering I’d imagine it’d be difficult to incorporate vocals as my voice is very solidly bass. But we’ll see.

I’m open to talking about this on Twitter, with anyone that asks, really. I want to take in anything about music making I can get, but FL gets opened today.

Anyway, I also want to draw more, but this I know will be on the backburner for some time. I also plan to take some pictures in Maine next week, so keep an eye out for those.

Regarding university plans, I emailed the University of Portsmouth with a request to defer, and I have not yet received a reply at this time. I will make a blog post about this once I receive a reply and have made some thoughts about it. Nevertheless, I have decided to make Portsmouth my firm choice going forward, and have dropped UWE and (very painfully) Swansea from my own consideration.

Lastly, I’ve thought about doing some sort of beach day for any furries in the South of England come this summer, although I don’t know how to go about it. I plan to do a few things with a friend in the South West for a bit, but realistically I’d want to do a beach day either at The Towans by Gwithian and Hayle in Cornwall, or somewhere on the Isle of Wight that isn’t too crowded (possibly Ventnor, but it may need to be Ryde or Sandown). Please do tell me if you’re interested. This would be very informal and I would ask that, if you want, to bring your suit provided it can be stored safely. I’ll try and discuss this with some people over the coming weeks and plan accordingly. Do note that if this is to be on the Isle of Wight, you can reach Ryde easily via Portsmouth using the Wightlink ferry for £28.80 at the time of writing for a day return. It is admittedly pricey, but you’d also be able to see me in suit wearing Union Jack swim shorts :^)

Anyway, that’s all for now.
